Story Submission by Tracey, Age 25

I’ve suffered depression since I was 15.

From my diagnosis until I was 18 years old, I did everything I possibly could to ease my emotional pain. I found that causing physical pain to myself gave me a release, albeit only very little.

I fell in love when I was 16 and even today, even though we are no longer together, I am forever grateful for the love and support he gave me.

It is because of him that my love for cars has grown as much as it has.

Although I’ve been off medication for over 7 months now, if I do have a relapse, I find myself going for drives in my car over trying to injure myself.

I hope anyone who reads this knows that things really do get better.

I have had depression for nearly 3 years. My ex is the reason I love cars so much more now and I also like to work on my car or go for drives
